The English Theatre of Hamburg e.V. is the oldest professional English language theatre in Germany. It was founded in 1976 by two Americans, Robert Rumpf and Clifford Dean. Since 1981 the theatre has occupied its present premises at Mundsburg.
The Theatre works exclusively with professional English actors.
Our purpose is to contribute to international communication through language and the art of the theatre.
Our audience is largely German, but it also includes people from all over the world.
