Shot in normally off-limits places: in atmospherically dense pictures underlayed with poetry this three minute film conveys the spirit prevalent in the city on the Elbe river. The concept of this film is distinctly and deliberately different from other more conventional image films. It was shot where access is usually denied: on a tugboat, in the secret tracts of aeronautical engineering and backstage at the big theatres. This film is all about showing the truth and not showing off.
Hamburg’s soul is authentically mirrored creating an intimacy from which it is hard to distance oneself.
