At the birth preparation date parents will receive a three-page, citizen-friendly combination form. Simply designed, it only asks for information that is indispensable for the processing institutions.
Parents can in one step
- provide information on the birth,
- legally give their child a name,
- have the birth certified by the registry office,
- order birth certificates
- and at the same time apply for child benefit.
This combination form is completed by parents after the birth of their child and submitted together with the necessary documents in their maternity clinic, from where it is forwarded to the competent registry office. The registry office certifies the birth and passes on the child benefit application to the family insurance fund. After an average of less than ten days, parents then conveniently receive by post the birth certificates ordered by the registry office, the tax ID for their child from the Federal Central Tax Office and the child benefit notice from the family insurance fund. The child benefit will be automatically transferred to the account specified.
The document "Notes on the New Service" offers parents assistance in filling out the combination form and provides detailed information on what to consider.
